Urval or "U are valuable, Urine is valuable" is a plant fertiliser produced by a process where urine stabilisation and sanitation is achieved using ultrafiltration (UF) based membrane bioreactor (MBR) followed by dewatering processes.  

 

The recovered fertiliser (Urval) from source‐ separated urine tank at the University of Technology Sydney has been utilised on the UTS green walls. UrVal fertiliser was also tested for the growth of vegetables and herbs and results were collected on plant growth, plant health, plant tissue composition and biomass.​
